Sorry i haven't been about i've been having a go at this "work" malarky.

Mr Vorteks! Aphelion way is absolutely fine, it's on the right side of the woods :) however you will be directly in the middle of the school run zone so expect traffic morning and 3pm-ish.

If you check google maps you'll see Whitley Wood Rd itself, home to a lot of scum. Anything on the South East side of this road, nearer to the M4 is good. And above all, avoid the intersection of Whitley Wood Ln and Whitley wood rd, seems quiet but that place is a hive of drugs and sin.

Anything east of Shinfield Rd is going to be nice but it'll cost ya. I personally live in the town centre, spitting distance from the Oracle (our main shopping centre) and Pavs (our main drinking centre). As long as you're off the main roads it's great, no noise from the club yobs at turnout time.

If you're willing to part with £1000 pcm then i would say get a nice apartment near town centre or get yourself up into Earley where all the people i mu... i mean, my friends live.

Can i also recommend that you use http://www.rightmove.co.uk/ for your searching needs. They have a new feature that plots all the properties that fit your search criteria out onto a google map! very handy and user friendly.
