Star Trek DS:9/Voyager's later episodes had quite some non-clean episodes as well. So did Andromeda which also started out clean. But for me the level of dirt isn't decision-making really. On the contrary, I like it when it's clean

ah cool raven cheers, didnt realise was something different alltogether. btw did you just mention the Start Trek V word? I still can't believe the audacity of that Berman bloke.. they should have buried him alive with rodenberrys corpse and spared us his "Vision"

Berman was controversial. But that was because Michael Piller died and there was sort of creative vacuum left. ST:VOY had huge troubles to lift off first but it did get better in the last three seasons. Especially after the introduction of Seven of Nine :p

But like I said, I don't actually care whether it's a muddy fragfest or an ballet-style staged stand-off as long either fits the whole universe/story.

aye im a bit like that too, continuity wins out most of the time but I just couldn't get into voyager at all despite watching most of the series hopeing it would pick up, was mainly down to the characters which I found pretty dim. they kinda always reminded me of:

Janeway = an aul nagging granny/school headmistress.
Harry Kim = an every day sap (how many alien chicks did he turn down coz of duty, despite looking like a mongo)
Paris = that annoying upper class cunt from school who needed a good kicking.
Nelix = annoying alien cookery cunt
Chacotay = sounds like a stain remover and just as entertaining, was a a bit like harry kim but more politicaly correct.
Torres = meh slightly annoying but was kinda hot under the makeup.
7 of 9 = lycra cat suit and Tits (emphasis on tits).
Tess (nelix's bird) = didnt really register but she was cute lol
Dr Hologram = no comment.

I Seriously didnt care about one character and towards the end of it was hopeing they'd get left stranded there in the Delta quadrent or assimilated by the borg/minced by species 759 or whatever they were called. As for enterprise, I was looking forward to it based on all the PR, Scott Bakula ye couldnt help be fond of him after quantum leap, that was untill I actually saw the first few episodes :/ so didnt really watch it much after. I do remember Gar (bumcheeks) telling me that when the ratings had dropped so far they practicly got that vulcan chick to get her kegs out for the lads. must try find that one to keep me warm on those lonley nights at sea akakakakak

Apropos Janeway, I know one who could make a mean imitation of her!

The sad truth about Voyager is that the most three-dimensional 'human' characters were the ex-Borg and the hologram. :(
(And in Seven of Nine's case, ohhh yes did she have a pronounced 3rd dimension)
